Ms Alison E. Heron

Chief Executive Officer, Association of Child Life Professionals

Alison E. Heron, MBA, CAE serves as the Chief Executive Officer and is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) with 28 years of diverse association sector experience and 22 years in leadership roles. Alison holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Strayer University. She is data-driven and a high-achieving visionary leader committed to advancing an organization’s strategic goals through diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies, transformational leadership, trend/data analysis, and partnership development. 

Before joining ACLP, she served as the Senior Director of Membership and Customer Relations at the Water Environment Federation (WEF). Before WEF, she served as the Senior Director of Membership and Units at the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). Alison is an active member of Chief, NextUp, American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), and a 2008-2009 ASAE Diversity Executive Leadership Scholar. Alison currently serves as a board member for NextUp Mid-Atlantic.

Ms Lindsay HEERING

President of Association of Child Life Professionals

Lindsay Heering is the current President of the Association of Child Life Professionals’ Board of Directors. Heering has served as the Administrative Director for the Department of Child and Family Life at Michigan Medicine’s C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital since 2017. Heering provides leadership for child life specialists, creative arts therapists, education specialists, patient technology, child life assistants, and their Paws4Patients facility dog program. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, Heering advocates for the developmental and psychosocial needs and emotional safety of patients and families through a patient and family-centered approach. Prior to working at Mott, she was employed at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM) for 14 years, most recently serving as the Director of Service Excellence and leading Patient Experience, Spiritual Care, Interpreter Services, Patient and Family Relations, and Patient and Family-Centered Care. She also served as their Manager of Child Life and Volunteer Services and started her career as the child life specialist for their inpatient Burn/Surgical and Rehabilitation Unit. Additionally, Heering has been an adjunct professor teaching child life courses for Central Michigan University and the University of Michigan – Dearborn. She has remained actively involved with the Association of Child Life Professionals and was a founding member and past president of the Great Lakes Association of Child Life Professionals. Heering is passionate about child life, emotional safety, patient experience, pain management, research, and evidence-based practice. Heering’s undergraduate degree is in Therapeutic Recreation from Central Michigan University, and she received her graduate degree in Health Psychology from the University of Michigan – Dearborn.

Ms Christine DUMAIS

Christine Dumais, Ed.M, CCLS received a Bachelor of Science in human development with a concentration in child life from Wheelock College and a Master of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

She has worked as a child life specialist at Boston Children’s Hospital for 11 years in a variety of roles – inpatient medicine, a satellite primary care clinic, and the emergency department. Christine currently works as a resource child life specialist on units throughout the hospital, providing additional child life support to patients and serving as a support to child life staff. Additionally, Christine has traveled to Ghana to provide education to pediatric hospital staff.

Christine’s professional interests include prevention of staff burnout, procedural support, and research. She has co-authored articles on the scope of child life practice and the impact of child life specialist on patient experience.

In her free time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and hiking with her dog and family.

Ms Hang Yin Candy LO

MA, CCLS, BC-DMT, RDT/BCT

Candy is a Certified Child Life Specialist, Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (US) and a Registered Drama Therapist/Board Certified Trainer (US). Candy is the founding member of both the Hong Kong Child Life Association (current president) and Hong Kong Dance Movement Therapy Association (past president); Candy has been serving at the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA)’s Standard and Ethics committee since 2017 and co-led the Asian and Asian Pacific Islander Desi American Affinity Group (AAIPDA) in 2019-2021.

After graduating from Antioch University New England, Candy started her private practice; Piece of Sky, in Hong Kong. Candy’s clinical passion lies in serving the medical professionals, paediatric and adult patients in the medical settings; she taught the Medical Humanities program (Performing Arts Module developed by The Absolutely Fabulous Theatre Connection) at the School of Medicine at HKU for 5 years. Candy also works with a wide range of populations: adults in the Autistic Spectrum, children with Selective Mutism, bereavement, people with developmental disabilities, etc.

Candy has been an honorary lecturer of the Expressive Arts Therapy program at the University of Hong Kong since 2014; an Adjunct Faculty at Lesley University since 2021 and Adjunct Faculty at Antioch University New England since 2022 .

Candy holds a MA in Dance/Movement Therapy and Counseling, a BA(Hon) in Musical Theatre Dance and a Diploma in Drama. She worked at Hong Kong Disneyland as a singer prior to her therapy career.

Simon Lam is currently working as Professor at the Department of Paediatrics and Assistant Dean (Education) of the Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He practices as a paediatrician in the neonatal unit at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong, and his research interests are in neonatology and early life exposures and long-term health outcomes. He is currently a member of the Advisory Council of the Australian New Zealand Neonatal Network, 2nd Vice President of The Hong Kong Neonatal Society and President of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians.

Dr Genevieve Po Gee FUNG

Dr. Genevieve Fung graduated from the University of Cambridge in UK, and came back to work in Hong Kong after completing her internship. She received her basic and higher Paediatrics training in Hong Kong with special interest in Neonatology. She received overseas training in Neonatology at the Monash Medical Centre, Australia and the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, USA.

Dr. Fung had worked in various tertiary Neonatal Centres in HK, and was Associate Consultant in Paediatrics at United Christian Hospital before joining the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) as Clinical Assistant Professor in 2021. At CUHK, whilst actively engaged in clinical work, she is also responsible for teaching and mentorship for medical students, as well as organization of examinations and conferences. In addition to hospital Paediatrics, she works in Child Health promotion and education with the Hong Kong Paediatrics Society. Dr. Fung is an American Academy of Pediatrics certified Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Regional Trainer and trainer for Neonatal Intensive Care courses in Hong Kong, and also teaches NRP Instructor classes in China. She has publications in various peer review journals, and serves as editor for the Hong Kong Journal of Paediatrics. She has also given many lectures in international conferences. Her research interests are late-preterm infants, biomarkers, mucosal immunity and microbiomes in neonates, and she has active participation in various ongoing collaborative research projects with other HA Hospitals and departments at CUHK.

Dr King Woon Alan SO

Dr. So graduated from the University of Hong Kong and became a paediatrician working in public sector for more than 30 years. He is currently the Co-chairman of the Paediatric Service Co-ordinating Committee, Hospital Authority and the Chief of Service of Paediatric Department, Prince of Wales Hospital. His goals are to provide quality hospital service to Hong Kong’s children and let them have a feeling of home despite hospitalized. As a council member of the Hong Kong College of Paediatricians and the chairman of the Examination Committee, he aims to keep our paediatricians’ professional standard to serve our children. His subspecialty & research interest is neonatology, and he is the immediate past president of the Hong Kong Neonatal Society and an honorary associate professor in the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Ms MA Po-king, Janice

Ms. MA Po King is currently the Department Operations Manager in Paediatric at United Christian Hospital. She is the President of Hong Kong College of Paediatric Nursing since 2021.

Ms. MA completed Bachelor of Nursing, Master of Nursing Management and Leadership program in HK. She is the Fellow members of Hong Kong College of Health Service Executives (HKCHSE) and Australian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM).

Ms. MA has extensive clinical service and senior nursing leadership experiences in Paediatrics nearly 30 years. She awarded HAHO Overseas Scholarship Training (Leadership) in John Hopkins Hospital in 2014. She obtained the overseas training of Paediatric Palliative care (EPEC) in US and Effective Adolescent Care and Health program (EuTEACH) in Switzerland in 2019. She received the Outstanding Team awards from HAHO for Paed Cleft Team and Paed Dermatology Team in 2012 and 2022 respectively

Ms. MA was the pioneer to collaborate with Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF) a “Pilot project of Child Life Service” in HK in July 2012. The pilot project was launched successfully in UCH to improve patients’ outcomes and build up child and family strengths. The new developed Child Life Service model in HK was highly appreciated by Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP), US. UCH become one of the clinical practicum sites for the 1st Child Life Clinical Internship Training Program organized by CCF and recognized by ACLP outside US.

Ms. MA had leading various new Paediatric Nursing Service model development in HK under Hospital Authority such as “Children with Medical Complexity Community Support Program (CCSP)” for Special School Students with Education Bureau and Special Schools in Community in 2014; Joint collaboration with C&A Psychiatry Department the pilot program for “Mild ADHD Caring program by Paed doctors and nurses in clinic” since 2020

For the Nurses Professional development, Ms. MA contributed greatly in the formulation of core competencies of Advanced and Specialized Practice Nurse in Paed Specialty for the Voluntary Scheme of Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) registration in the Nursing Council of Hong Kong (NCHK), a new government initiative which has been successfully launched in January 2021.

Ms TANG Sze Kit

Ms Tang Sze Kit is the President of Hong Kong Paediatric Nurses Association (2022- 2024). She is also the Honorary Secretary of Hong Kong College of Paediatric Nursing. She obtained her Bachelor Degree in Nursing, Master Degree in Advanced Practice in the University of Hong Kong and Master of Science in Health Management in the University of Oxford Brooks in 1999, 2002 and 2006 respectively. Ms Tang has vast experiences in Paediatric Intensive Care Nursing and Paediatric Nephrology Nursing. Ms Tang also actively participated in nursing education activities such as she is the “Safe Sedation in paediatric” instructor since 2013, visiting lecturer of post-registration certificate course in paediatric intensive care nursing (2006-2008), new graduate orientation program in Hong Kong Children’s Hospital 2022. She is also the organizing committee members of Annual Joint Scientific meeting of 4 paediatric professional bodies in Hong Kong which includes Hong Kong Paediatric Society, Hong Kong College of Paediatricians, Hong Kong Paediatric Nurses Association and Hong Kong College of Paediatric Nursing since 2018. She is now the Ward Manager of Paediatric Nephrology Centre in the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital in Hong Kong SAR, China.

Dr Joanna TUNG

Dr Joanna Tung is a Specialist in Paediatric Endocrinology. She graduated from the University of Hong Kong and received specialist training in Paediatrics and Paediatric Endocrinology in the Department of Paediatric and Adolescent Medicine, Queen Mary Hospital, The University of Hong Kong. She had her overseas training in Paediatric Endocrinology in the Children Hospital of Philadelphia.

Currently, she is working as the Consultant in the Endocrine Division, Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (HKCH). Their team set up the territory-wide ‘Paediatric Diabetes Enhancement Program with CGM support’ for children with diabetes in Hong Kong. They have been collaborating with Playright actively in the past 3 years in developing various children- and family centred-, play-based diabetes education. The team was awarded the Hospital Authority Merit Team, Kowloon Central Cluster Outstanding Team and HKCH Outstanding team in 2022.

Dr Fanny HO

Dr. Fanny Ho is the Associate Consultant of the Paediatric Nephrology Centre in Hong Kong Children’s Hospital. She has worked closely with the Playright Chilren’s Play Association throughout her clinical years serving young patients with various kidney diseases. She is also the committee member of the Children’s Kidney Fund who’s dedicated not only to improve the physical health of the patients but also to promote the psychological and social development of the patients.

Helen is a consultant paediatric nephrologist working at the Evelina London Children’s Hospital. She has an interest in renal transplantation and has worked as a consultant in the paediatric transplant service there since November 2012. During this time she has also been involved with the paediatric kidney advisory subgroup of the NHS blood and transplant organisation, initially as the unit representative and more recently as deputy chair of this committee. She is also actively involved in teaching and is a clinical tutor for the undergraduate medical student for King’s College London.

Ms Grainne M. WALSH

Gráinne is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner Evelina London Children’s Hospital and has been part of the transplant team there for the last 27 years. Her varied clinical interests include post transplant virology, young adult healthcare and the impact of transplantation on the child and family.

Gráinne enjoys teaching and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer in the University of Cape Town, working with Nursing Masters students.

Gráinne was previously Director of the International Transplant Nurses Society, has sat on Committees of the International Paediatric Transplant Association and is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Kidney Care. She is a trustee of the patient support charity Kidney Care UK.

Grainne is joint team manager of the Evelina London VIPs (transplant sports team) and has been to every British Transplant Games since 1996.

Dr. Patrick Ip is a Clinical Associate Professor of Department of Paediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, The University of Hong Kong and an Honorary Consultant in Paediatrics, Queen Mary Hospital. He also appointed by HKSAR as Non-official member in Hong Kong Commission on Children, Advisory Committee on Mental Health, Steering Committee on Prevention and Management of Non-Communicable Diseases.

Dr Ip is a specialist pediatrician with special interest in Child Health, Neurology and Developmental Behavioral Paediatrics. He is an expert in early childhood development and has been working for UNICEF and China Development Research Foundation (CDRF) on various child health projects in East Asia Pacific Region as well as in Greater China. Dr Ip has much experience and publications on early childhood development, neurodevelopmental disorders, and global health issues. He has been one of the key coordinators of integrated child health service between hospital and the community and coordinated the Comprehensive Child Development Service (CCDS) of Hospital Authority since its implementation in 2006 until he joined the University of Hong Kong in 2009. He is an appointed tutor of the Association for Research in Infant and Child Development, United Kingdom and the official trainer of Griffith’s Mental Developmental Scale. His research focus on different dimensions of Community Child Health including early brain development, early intervention, underprivileged children, safeguarding children, child abuse, child mental health, disability and rehabilitation, public health & health promotion.

Dr Mike Yat-Wah KWAN

Dr. Mike Yat-Wah Kwan is the Consultant Paediatrician of the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and Head of the Paediatric Infectious Diseases Unit of the Hospital Authority Infectious Disease Centre at Princess Margaret Hospital. He is also the Honorary Consultant of the Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, Honorary Clinical Associate Professor of the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, The University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Dr. Kwan is appointed as a member of the National Verification committee for Measles and Rubella Elimination, a member of the Expert Panel for the National Committee for the Certification of the Wild Poliovirus Eradication, a member of the Scientific Committee on Vaccine Preventable Diseases of the Centre for Health Protection, Department of Health HKSAR.

Dr. Kwan is the Founding Council Member and the Past President of the Hong Kong Society for Paediatric Immunology Allergy and Infectious Diseases (HKSPIAID). He is Council member and Honorary Treasurer of the Hong Kong Paediatric Society. He is the Standing Committee member representing Hong Kong SAR and the President-Elect in the Asian Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases (ASPID). Dr. Kwan is Chairman of the Paediatric Immunology Allergy and Infectious Diseases Subspecialty Board, Hong Kong College of Paediatricians. His research is focused on the epidemiology of infectious diseases, respiratory virus infections and vaccinology. He has authored and co-authored publications on paediatric SARS infection, Avian Influenza, Influenza vaccine effectiveness, Paediatric SARS-CoV2 (COVID-19) infection and various papers and guidelines on other infectious disease topics. Currently Dr. Kwan is coordinating research in paediatric SARS-CoV2 infection, effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccine and adverse effects related to COVID-19 vaccine, etc with local and overseas partners. Dr. Kwan is appointed as one of the Hong Kong Conference Ambassadors by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Hong Kong SAR.

Dr Elaine KAN

Dr Elaine Kan is the Chief of Service of the Department of Radiology at Hong Kong Children’s Hospital and an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of University of Hong Kong.

Dr Kan graduated from the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences of the University of Auckland, New Zealand. She underwent training in Radiology in Hong Kong, followed by a mini fellowship in Pediatric Radiology at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. As a young fellow, Dr Kan was awarded the Hong Kong Hospital Authority Corporate Scholarship, with which she pursued training in Paediatric Neuroradiology at the Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital in London, United Kingdom. She underwent further subspecialty training in Fetal Neuroimaging at Guys and St. Thomas Hospital in London when she was awarded the Hong Kong College of Radiologists 15A Traveling Scholarship. She was also the recipient of Hong Kong Children’s Hospital Overseas Scholarship, with which she pursued further training paediatric oncological imaging at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York.

Dr Kan chairs the House Subcommittee of the Hong Kong College of Radiologists. She is a Board Member of the Asian-Oceanic Society of Paediatric Radiology. She is the currently an MRI Safety Ambassador for The Asian Oceanian Society of Radiology.

Dr Kan is a vital member of the commissioning team of the Department of Radiology of Hong Kong Children’s Hospital (HKCH). HKCH commenced service in December 2018 and is the only children’s hospital in Hong Kong.

Dr Kan has special interests in neuro-imaging, fetal neuro-radiology, and quality and safety. It is Dr Kan’s goal to make imaging safe and fun for children!

Dr Vansie KWOK

Dr. Vansie Kwok, M.B., B.S, FHKCA, FHKAM(Anaesthesiology), is a Paediatric Anaesthesiologist at Hong Kong Children’s Hospital. She has received oversea training at Tokyo Metropolitan Children’s Medical Center and is interested in paediatric sedation, perioperative anxiety management in children as well as specialist wellbeing and training in anaesthesiology. She is working closely with Child Life Specialists of Playright and dedicated experts across town to explore and implement innovative strategies including virtual reality aiming to minimize children’s distress while enhancing patient and parent education before surgery or procedures.

Dr HO Pak Cheong

Dr. PC Ho graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 1987. Ho is currently a D4 Consultant and the Chief of Service of the Department of Orthopaedics & Traumatology in Prince of Wales Hospital, as well as the Clinical Professor (honorary) of the Faculty of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. His main research interest is on Hand & Wrist Arthroscopic Surgery. Others include congenital hand differences, rheumatoid hand, paralytic hand reconstruction and microsurgery. Ho was the President of the Hong Kong Society for Surgery of the Hand in 2008-2010. In 2012, he was awarded the Whipple Prize for recognition of his distinguished contribution in wrist arthroscopic surgery. In 2015 he was appointed as the President of the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society (EWAS) (2015-2016) as well as the Founding President of the Asia Pacific Wrist Association (APWA) (2015-2017).

His academic honors included: Overseas Visiting Expert in Orthopaedic Surgery to Singapore in 2012, Moberg Lecturer at the 24th Scandinavian Hand Society Meeting in 2012, Robert A. Chase Visiting Professor to the Stanford University in 2014, Joshi Oration for the Indian Hand Surgery Society in 2015, Invited Lecturer to the 88th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Orthopaedic Association in 2015, Honored Professor to the Philadelphia Hand Rehabilitation Foundation in 2017 and 2022, Plenary Speaker of 11th APFSSH Congress 2017 in Cebu, Plenary Speaker of East Japan Society for Surgery of the Hand Meeting 2019 in Niigata, Inaugural Speaker of Master Classes in Hand Surgery at University of Pittsburgh in 2021, International Guest Presenter at Australian Hand Surgery Society ASM in 2021, Buck-Gramcko Lecturer at 62nd Annual Congress of German Hand Surgery Society (DGH) in 2022, Founder’s Lecturer at 7th Annual Congress of APWA in Pune 2022 and as the keynote speaker in numerous national hand surgery and orthopaedic societies including Singapore, Japan, Korea, China, Indonesia, Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Argentina, USA, France, Romania, Poland, Estonia, Germany and Portugal since 2002. He has made 149 publications (97 in wrist surgery), conducted 123 cadaveric courses in 24 international centers, and delivered 142 local & 649 international lectures in 104 cities of 38 countries worldwide (including 101 webinars). He is the director of the Hong Kong International Wrist Arthroscopy Workshop and Seminar since 2008.

Parallel to his medical profession, Dr. Ho exhibited the same degree of devotion and passion to the other indispensable facet of his life – Harmonica and Music. He started learning harmonica in 1975 by age of 12 at his alma mater the King’s College of Hong Kong. Since then, perfecting harmonica arts became his lifelong dream of accomplishment. He established the world renowned King’s Harmonica Quintet with buddies in 1987 and won a total of two champions, two first- runners up and two second-runners up titles in the two World Harmonica Championships in 1995 and 1997. He appeared numerous times on concert stages both locally including the Hong Kong Arts Festival thrice in 2000, 2010 and 2022 (deferred) as featured artist, and internationally in 40 cities of 22 countries all over the world. In 2002, he performed James Moody’s “Little Suite” as soloist with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra under the Baton of Samuel Wong. Since 1996 and 2005 respectively, Ho appeared regularly in the biennial Asia Pacific Harmonica Festivals (APHF) and the quadrennial World Harmonica Festivals as adjudicator, seminar speaker and guest performer. Ho and the Quintet had multiple collaborations with all major local professional orchestras, including Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (2002 & 2009), Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra (2004, 2008 & 2013), City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong (2004) and Hong Kong Sinfonietta (2011), and had been appointed as the Artist-in-Residence for RTHK Radio 4 in 2006 and Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2013. Ho is the founding President of the Hong Kong Harmonica Association in 2002-2009, and had organized the 5th APHF in Hong Kong in 2004, a mega-scale event of 7 days attended by over 1800 international harmonica players and enthusiasts from over 20 countries. Dr. Ho is also the founder of the “Budding Well” project in Prince of Wales Hospital since 2016. This is a non-profit making service project to enhance hand functions & psycho-social well-being of the physically handicapped children & teenagers, and to enrich their artistic interest & cultural life through harmonica, music, arts and sport learning and practices.

As recognition to his accomplishment of excellence in duo profession, he received the “Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Hong Kong Award” in 2002 and the Chief Executive’s Commendation for Community Service by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2007. In 2022, he was invited to be a Star Mentor of the “Strive and Rise Programme” of the Hong Kong SAR Government to help raising the profile of the under-privileged youths of Hong Kong.

Dr Mandy MAN

Dr Man qualified from Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2007 and obtained MRCPCH in 2011. Since her higher training in paediatrics, she developed her interest in palliative care in children. She was appointed to be the team head of paediatric palliative care team in Hong Kong Children’s Hospital since Oct 2018 and is responsible for setting up the centralized palliative care service in Hong Kong. She is also the vice-president of Hong Kong Society of Children’s Palliative Care.

Ms KWOK Ting-fong

Ms T. F. Kwok qualified from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 2005 as a Registered Nurse. She obtained her Master of Social Sciences (Behavioral Health) in the University of Hong Kong, and is granted the Certificate in Thanotology: Death, Dying & Bereavement (Association of Death Education & Counselling, USA). Her experience in general Paediatrics and Paediatric Oncology has shaped her practice and interest in Paediatric Palliative Care. She started her work as a Paediatric Palliative Care nurse in Hong Kong Children’s Hospital since 2019.

Prof. Janet WONG

Professor Janet WONG Yuen-ha is the Dean and Professor of the School of Nursing and Health Studies at Hong Kong Metropolitan University. Professor WONG obtained her professional qualifications and subsequently Doctor of Philosophy from The University of Hong Kong (HKU). During her Ph.D. study, she was awarded the Fulbright Visiting Scholarship (2010-2011) for her post-doctorate experience in the University of Virginia in the United States. Professor WONG developed her academic career at her alma mater since then. During her term of service in HKU, she steered the modernization of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and led major curriculum reform exercises as the Chair of Teaching & Learning. She is also a Fellow of Australasian College of Health Service Management (FCHSM) and Hong Kong College of Health Service Executives (FHKCHSE).

As an active scholar, Professor WONG has been offered competitive research grants and published more than 100 publications in international peer-reviewed journals. Her principal research area lies in health inequalities and vulnerabilities, including intimate partner violence, risky sexual behaviours, ethnic minority and sexual minority. Her research enhanced her capacity to know-how, fostered problem-solving skills, and disseminated nurse-driven innovations and evidence-informed practice to promote health. She is also committed to the innovation and scholarship of teaching and learning including high fidelity simulation, gamification, interprofessional education, virtual reality-based education, and robots. In both 2020 and 2021, she received the Teaching Innovation (Team) Awards in HKU, recognizing her dedicated efforts for excellence in teaching, for two consecutive years.

Furthermore, Professor WONG is passionate in serving for the community. She participates actively in global and local professional organizations including World Association for Chinese Quality of Life and Hong Kong Single Parents Association. She was also elected as the Asia Regional Coordinator in The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing in 2019 and re-elected in 2021.

Prof. LI Chi-kong

Prof. Chi-kong LI currently is Research Professor at Department of Paediatrics of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and honorary consultant at Prince of Wales Hospital and Hong Kong Children’s Hospital. He had been Chief of Service of Department of Paediatrics, Prince of Wales Hospital from 2004 to 2014. He was the past Continental President of Asia of International Society of Pediatric Oncology. He is the Director of Committee of Subspecialty Boards of Hong Kong College of Paediatricians. Dr Li was the founding chairman of Hong Kong Society of Children’s Palliative Care.

Ms Chiko CHONG

Chiko is a certified child life specialist (CCLS) and currently works as Assistant Manager of the Hospital Play service team in Playright Children’s Play Association. She has been working with children and adolescents for over 10 years. By joining this profession, she has worked to advocate the importance of children’s psychosocial health and facilitate play opportunities through the patients’ journeys. She has extensive experience working in various specialties and hospitals.
